Free Fidget Spinner Story

UPDATE: I recently gave the spinner away to someone who has kids. I had the urge to give it to that specific person. Something tells me it has gone on to fulfill that kid's desire for one.

----

I came across this thing called fidget spinners. I had seen them on a website that advertises gadgets and that I get email notices from. I thought they were pretty cool and since I like gadgets, I thought I would like one. But when I looked at the price it just seemed kind of expensive for what is was. Basically a small toy. I went on Amazon like I always do to see if I can find the items I want at a lower price. I saw several but for whatever reason I didn't buy one.

I kept seeing them advertised different places and even saw people using them in videos on YouTube and elsewhere. I still wanted one, but I didn't really make an effort to get one. I even saw a good one offered for $1.00 but I still for some reason didn't buy it. Something about spending my money buying it just still wasn't in me to do.

Well, moving a couple of months later, I was using a website to set up a medical appointment. I set the appointment online but as it turned out they had offered a date option that fell on a holiday when just about all businesses are closed. Not paying attention to the date I went ahead and selected the date for the appointment.  Later, I realized my error and went back in to reschedule the appointment. No big deal.

A couple of days later, I got an email from the scheduling service apologizing for any inconvenience. They also offered to send me an Amazon gift card as an apology. I wrote back and told them it wasn't really a problem and that I appreciated them reaching out to me proactively about it. I left it at that and forgot about it.

The next day, they wrote back and said they were going to send me the gift card anyway if I didn't mind. To myself I was like "Sure whatever" thinking they probably would not wind up sending it. I didn't particularly care either way (detachment).

The next day they did send me the gift card by email for a credit on Amazon. I was impressed they had kept their word and basically sent me a gift card for really nothing. Then I had the idea: "I'll use it to buy the spinner." I had seen someone using one in another video a couple of days earlier and was still thinking about getting one.

The amount they gave me was just enough to cover the cost of the spinner, plus shipping, with a little left over. Lol. (There is a photo of the spinner I got at the beginning of this story.)

So again, the universe conspired to get me what I wanted without me having to spend a dime or do anything but truly want it. And even was able to get it from my favorite online store!

Now for the house.....
